1. Make a list of things you want to do and actually do them. It can be anything from hiking to the top of a waterfall in Yosemite NP (totally worth it, stay tuned for a post about this) to doing 5 sit ups a day. Fact is, we all enjoy the feeling of checking an item off of a list.
  2. See the sunset or sunrise as often as you can. It is beautiful and it happens every single day FREE for you and I to enjoy. So take your one photo for instagram, Facebook, snapchat or whatever  and revel in the fact that you have been given the extraordinary gift of life.
  3. Eat good food. Too many people are so worried about dieting that they completely forget how amazing it is to eat. I have a friend who is literally the slowest eater on the planet. She can take 2 hours to finish a peanut. That might be an exaggeration but one thing I have learned from her is to really enjoy my food. Whether its a filet mignon or an Oreo don’t just shove it in your face. Taste it, savor it, enjoy it.
  4. Work your body. Walk, run, hike, spin, twerk. Do something to keep the blood flowing and the endorphins pumping. I’m not here to tell you how often or for how long but I do know, we only get one of these so we should treat it well.
  5. Organize your space. I spent three years leading trips across the US as a tour leader and if I learned anything through that experience it was to be organized. Knowing where my things were at any one time and being able to find them as effectually as possible was essential. Organizing your life can increase your productivity and reduce stress. So get in there and get rid of the mess.
  6. Laugh. Laughter is good for the soul, the mind, and the body. Overall its just good for your health. Here is a tip, keep a little archive of funny videos on your phone. It can be of friends, family, or the time you got a ridiculous undercut when you were trying to be trendy. Pull it out when you have a spare moment and just need to get a laugh in.
  7. Get in touch with nature. There is something about being outside that is cleansing for the soul. I’m not saying we all need to abandon our comfy lives to spend 3 weeks hiking through the Amazon or anything. It can be simple. Go for a walk in the park, smell a flower, stick your head out the window when your stuck in traffic to feel the sun on your face, just make an effort.
  8. Go on adventures. I’m a big advocate for trying new things. Life is an adventure. Why not take that cooking class you’ve always wanted to or go to that place you have pinned on your Pinterest? Time is ticking. There is nothing worse in life than regret. So get out there and try it.
  9. Read my blog. Got ya! You don’t necessarily have to read my blog in order to obtain happiness but I promise to provide ways to inspire you to do just that. Adventure is the game, hair flipping is the name. Welcome.
