Ladies and gentlemen, it’s officially been one year since I made the big move to Australia. Well, it’s actually been 1 year, 2 months and 3 hours since I deplaned my Virgin Australia flight into a new life filled with “what ifs”. My two suitcases were quite literally bursting as well as my excitement for what this country may have in store for me, a new place, a new love and a flutter in my gut with the prospect of figuring it all out. Now that I think about it, that flutter totally could have been my stomach responding to the in flight meal.
Anyway, as I sit here 1 year, 2 months and 3.5 hours later not much has changed in the “figuring it all out” aspect. One thing is for sure, I’m thankful for the journey and as cliché as it sounds that’s what it’s all about in the end…the journey. So here are some of my favorite photos from the past year and I hope it inspires you to do something that gives you the flutter of uncertainty.
My local beach sunset spot
Hairflipping on the infamous Mindel Beach in Darwin after we realized the markets weren’t on because it was the wrong season.
My former roomate Shantay who is the sassiest bitch on the planet and who I miss living with dearly.
The best and most thoughtful birthday present I have ever received. Thanks Cal
A day exploring the canola fields in York which is in the middle of nowhere, ie the country.
The day I had to pullover to get a photo of this crazy Lisa Frank sunset. My elementary school binder would be jealous.
The secret garden
The time Callum wouldn’t buy me a puppy so I told him he could be one.
The city skyline of Perth from the boat that I loath working on but the view isn’t bad.
